Cosmetic brands that don't test on animals?
i'm trying to stay away from products that test their stuff on animals..i recently bought the pureology shampoo and conditioner which is all natural and not tested on animals and i was wondering if any of you guys knew makeup brands that also don't test on animals..i really appreciate it!Cosmetic brands that don't test on animals?

Its because 17 is a Boots own brand, aimed at teenagers and younger women, and they have another own brand of cosmetics (No7) which is aimed at older women. You can see this from the price differences, 17 is extremely cheap and No7 is a quite a bit more expensive.
This is the reason you won't find any external sites about it, you'll own be able to buy the products from Boots.

I absolutely LOVE benefit. It is one of the best make up brands ever.... Although it is expensive and some of their stuff is the same just ever so slightly changed and given a different name. But if you can recognise that and get different products then it is amazing!!!!
I love the brand. I think it is a little over-priced, but i think that looking after your skin is important, so spending a bit more on cosmetics is well worth it. Also, the packaging is nice and the products smell nice too :)
i only have lip gloss but its fab.
i know its good quality but the prices are way too much
there are alternative brands that are just as good but cheeper.
i generally go and check out the testers then see what else is out there cheeper and feels just as good

to be honest i only use one brand and its called Clinique its all natural no rash or anything hings like that it has no nasty smell it it and it just feel refreshing on your face so I highly advise you to purchase it

to be honest i only use one brand and its called Clinique its all natural no rash or anything hings like that it has no nasty smell it it and it just feel refreshing on your face so I highly advise you to purchase it

I really like Missha and Laneige. The quality of Missha definitely pales to Laneige's, but Missha is pretty good for its low prices. Laneige is pricey, but the quality is so good. Also there warmth $15 is like a blush/bronzer but very natural. Eyelash i like Ardell $4. Once you get the hang of it they take like 1minute to put on and look amazing. just practice. Zoya $6 lipgloss is great. Taste great and is soooo incredibly glossy. Get a cheap lipstick brush to apply it withFavourite cosmetic brands %26amp; why?

I always use Bare Minerals makeup. It is the absolute best. I use other mascera but they have the ulimate in foundation and concealer. It may seem expensive but you use a very little and it lasts forever. It is a very wise investment. Trust me.

Revlon Colorstay--I have a problem with sweating a lot, even during the winter and that is (so far) the only brand I have found that actually stays on all day, with minimal fading instead of being all streaky like I took a make-up remover soaked cotton ball and drew random lines up and down my face within 5 minutes of applying the make-up (foundation is the worst) like a lot of other make-up brands do

You can start out with the starter kit, you get two foundations - you usually have to mix them a bit to get the right color - its so simple! You get Warmth - which looks dark but it isn't - it just adds a natural sunlight look to you. You get Mineral Veil - it perfects your look and gives you that smooth finish : )
You get three brushes - the brushes are unlike any other - don't try any imitations - the B.E. brushes are wonderful! You usually get a starter DVD also - you will watch it the first couple times you put it on - I remember I panicked and thought Id never remember the order to put it on : )
I put mine on a little heavier than the DVD suggests - it works well for me.
They are on QVC all the time, so check QVC for great deals : )
I have almost all of my friends and co-workers wearing B.E. now - we are addicted : )
I think my favorite would be the Well Rested for your eyes - no matter how tired you are - you put that around your eyes and you look...well...well rested!

MAC is a very good make up to use ... it stays on pretty much all day it is sweat resistant but it is a bit high in pricing. It also does not clog pores so it will be good to NOT work with acne so it may be worth the price

All 3 of those brands are great, but quite expensive. There are lots of mineral brands available that are as good for foundations, blushers etc and can be found online, or from a store such as Sephora.
If you have the money to spend on make up then invest in MAC for their colours, and more outrageous items and use Bobbi Brown for natural, day make up.

Is Benefit cosmetics a good brand?
In the past I have used chanel, dior, mac, lancome, and bare essentials...I just feel that there not doing it for me any more.Is Benefit cosmetics a good brand?

Depends on what you're getting. Most things are pretty cheaply made. The lipsticks/lip gloss get real cakey, and they don't stay on long. The only thing I use with this brand is their clear nail polish. You almost can't go wrong with that stuff.Is the cosmetics brand N.Y.C. good?

Also, it legnthened (nothing drastic though, just typical mascara legnthening), but didn't do anything else. I got black-brown in color so its hard to tell if the color did anything. I'm not sure if waterproof mascara is drier or whatever, but it was dry %26amp; it made my lashes hard.
2. The eyeliner is good. Well, I mean, it smudges a little, but all eyeliners do that for me, so for $1 who can complain. I didn't get waterproof/smearproof though.
3. I love their nailpolish. It's def. my favorite %26amp; its only $1.

i have mostly MAC because the quality is fantastic and its not as expensive as other high end makeup brands. they also have their amazing back2mac recycling program which i love because free stuff is always awesome and a procard discount for makeup artists. the variety of products they offer is ridiculously huge, probably more than any other brand, so its easy to base your entire makeup collection in MAC.
I've used every brand of makeup and here are my favorites:
Bare Escentuals is the only one I use now. It's absolutely the best and the only one that doesn't make my skin break out.
Shiseido and Prescriptives are also very good as department store makeup that costs more, but wears better.

The makeup I used for my wedding was Clinque because I love that brand. The woman she bought the makeup from did a free wedding consultation, helped pick out the shades, and even showed her how to apply it. Whatever you go with, I would purchase a better brand and have someone show you how to do it to. It helps a lot when they sit you down and show you the best way to apply!

Yasmine, may I recommend taking meticulous care of your skin first? With that said, my recommendation is aularale.com/7002 for everything except lashes and mascara. I do not recommend a pressed powder at all; instead choose a loose translucent powder - it is oil free and allows your skin to breathe. I like human hair lashes by Bliss or Ardell (you'll have to decide by choosing a style(s) you think you like and experiment to get the perfect ones for you). And finally, it you choose not to wear lashes, Maybelline water proof mascara.

They have really good products and they don't test their products on animals like cover girl does. Plus you make alot more money since with covergirl anyone could just go to the drugstore and buy it cause it's sold anywere. It's lt's like why are you even gunna sell it? No one will buy it, it's easier to just run up to the store!
Anyways, there is also The Body Shop. They have great cosmetics and bath and body products and their not tested on animals. I love there stuff and my friend who sells it makes sooooooooo much money! One of the best companies ever.

Hello everyone. My name is Iris and I am 23 and unfortunately I was a smoker for quite some time fact which really damaged my skin. My skin type was dry but because I have tried numerous brands of lotions and moisturizers I kind of...confused my skin. Now it`s dry but in the same time a bit oilywith open pores..and sometimes it`s itchy and red. I would not recommend either. You are paying more for the name. The best product that I have used and I have used them all has been BeautiControl. Their products are made to compete with dermatologist not cosmetic companies. They are very affordable. I started using 5 years ago. Within a week I could tell a difference in my skin. It was so dramatic that my husband noticed. I also use the Bare Minerals blush, eyeshadows and eye liner---which are also a little pricey but they last a LONG time (I've had the same blush container for maybe two years now), and they work better. I also have a few eyeshadows from MAC that I like. The rest of my makeup is drugstore stuff--Cover Girl or Maybelline mascara, plain Chapstick in the black tube, that sort of thing.

MAC is high end makeup and won't give you the cheap look that some drugstore makeup will give you. I'm not saying all drugstore makeup is bad but some of it is. Alot of MAC's foundations also preserve your skin to keep you younger looking through the years, as well as making your face look flawless. Generally the MAC makeup is better than other stuff that you can find at drugstores (mascara makes longer looking eyelashes, foundations are longer-lasting, eyeliner is smudgeproof, ect). Drugstore brands usually have stuff that smudges, and it doesn't last all day.
Oh and for your lipgloss question, the $23 lip gloss is probably much better than the $3-5 one. The shades might appear the same but the more expensive one probably lasts longer, tastes better, and isn't sticky. And the colour would also actually look good on your lips, while drugstore lipglosses tend to look good in the tube but when you put it on it appears transparent.

MAC is high end makeup and won't give you the cheap look that some drugstore makeup will give you. I'm not saying all drugstore makeup is bad but some of it is. Alot of MAC's foundations also preserve your skin to keep you younger looking through the years, as well as making your face look flawless. Generally the MAC makeup is better than other stuff that you can find at drugstores (mascara makes longer looking eyelashes, foundations are longer-lasting, eyeliner is smudgeproof, ect). Drugstore brands usually have stuff that smudges, and it doesn't last all day.
Oh and for your lipgloss question, the $23 lip gloss is probably much better than the $3-5 one. The shades might appear the same but the more expensive one probably lasts longer, tastes better, and isn't sticky. And the colour would also actually look good on your lips, while drugstore lipglosses tend to look good in the tube but when you put it on it appears transparent.

Has anyone ever tried E.L.F make-up cosmetics and other brands?
I have worn make-up before and I am a huge make-up freak and am still looking for that ';perfect'; make-up. I am a bit skeptical on buying there make-up because its so cheap and I have sensative skin(alhough I've never had a problem with eyeshadow before). I was interested in there cream duo eyeshadow because I never wore cream eyeshadow before and I am starting to dislike powder eyeshadow because I feel like it doesn't do it for me. I want something that goes on smooth and have the option of vibrant or subtle.
So what do you think?

I use Maybelline eye makeup remover for waterproof mascara (cheap but mostly it actually works better for waterproof mascara than either Clinique or Mary Kay). I use drugstore brands of body wash (I actually prefer Clinique, but I go through far too much body wash to buy theirs), body moisturizer (money is the big factor here). I love drugstore lipstick as a rule, usually Revlon, L'Oreal, or Milani--and the reason why is I like their colors, although I do own a couple of Clinique lipsticks.
On the other hand, I use a blonde eyebrow pencil by Mary Kay because it is frankly the only one I can find light enough with the right consistency, but I have used Revlon lip liner for years for the same reason. I go with what works best as a rule. I don't think Revlon is any harsher than Clinique or Estee Lauder when it comes to lipstick. My main consideration is what works well for me and what colors work and if I can save money, so much the better.
I've used shampoo and hair products from the drugstore, like Paul Mitchell (which used to be only at salons) and John Frieda, but really prefer to get mine from the beauty supply or my hair stylist. I was formerly a hair stylist and I really do think they are better. I never found Clinique or department stores shampoos all that good since Pantene left department stores and started to sell junkier stuff at the drugstores. Pantene used to be the Cadillac of shampoos 25-30 years ago and was only sold at the better stores. I purchased a Jane twistable eyeliner one time at Walgreen's. I normally favored one that Cover Girl made but this one particular day Walgreen's happened to be out of the shade I normally use. I was in a hurry, I had actually left work to run over there and grab some new contact lens solution. I needed eyeliner desperately, my lenses were irritating me, eyeliner was running everywhere, and my Cover Girl pencil ran out that same morning. It was a bad day! So I found myself staring at the Jane display and they just happened to have a very similar shade to the one I used from Cover Girl. I bought it. It was amazing... it went on even smoother than the CG pencil and lasted longer... and the shade was prettier (I use a charcoal grey... but sometimes they seem too black). I really loved it and went it ran out I went back for more... however I have not been able to find this product again, like it's been discontinued or Walgreen's just hasn't carried it. I have been very disappointed because it really was a good one.Is Jane Cosmetics a good eyeliner brand?
I would consider giving Jane a try. Perhaps you can purchase the eyeliner at a drugstore such as Rite-Aid that has a money-back guarantee on cosmetics. I've always liked Jane's mascaras, eye shadows, blushers, lispticks, and loose and pressed powders. Jane was originally owned by Estee Lauder, so IMHO the quality has always been good. And I'm 50 years old, so I've tried quite a few brands.
If it's not well known, I suggest you to not buy it. You don't want to risk getting any bad chemicals near your eye. Stick to en eyeliner you know works well.
