Ultima IIWhat popular cosmetic brands are not tested on animals?
well, alot of higher end brands are not tested on animals, like: MAC, urban decay, benefit, etc.
but some drugstore brands that dont test on animals are: revlon, physicians formula, burts bees, wet and wild.
i know that maybelline and covergirl DO test on animals. and they are quite popular =/
Melissa,
A good rule of thumb is the place of manufacture. For example it is well known the Chinese test on animals like drinking a cup of coffee. After viewing a video (I would not recommend it if you own pets, very brutal), a cosmetic manufacturer literally tortured a Chow Chow to test the effects of the cosmetics on the open wounds. They also would spray cosmetic ingredients mixed with water on the forced open eye of a rabbit. Since watching this brutality I've promised myself never to purchase any makeup made in China. I figure if I do buy from made in China then I am contributing to the brutality circle, and for what? So that some girls can buy cheap cosmetics? When you state it that way it seems so stupid. There are brands that do not come from China. Here are brands I use that are not made in China.

Sorry for being graphic, but I think this story has to be told, and people need to know that their is a very dark side to cheap cosmetics.
Revlon, bare escentials and the body shop dont, but companies such as maybelline, l'oreal and max factor do.
MAC cosmetics do not tested on animals, yay
Google it.
